Qolb
A downloadable game for Windows
The end of a world
Qolb is a survival action roguelite with strong lore elements. You play as Framboise, followed by a huge wave she must run from.
The game was developed by a single person. I worked on everything during two years and a half, from programming to animation, music composition and game design.
You must scavenge to survive
Your life bar is decreasing every few seconds. You have to eat to refill it and prevent hunger. You can find food in trash and soda dispensers.
When you use your dash ability too often, it will cost you life. Framboise was a fighter but she didn't use her powers for a long time.
Discover the Wreckage of the world
The world was destroyed before, and it is facing its next destruction; A gigantic wave is sinking everything in Corruption. Discover the lore of cities, characters, gods and creatures that populate the ruins. You will have over 50 lore informations to unlock to understand the story of the event you are living.
You will discover 2 different endings, 2 bosses, 6 areas, 10 enemies and an 18-tracks original soundtrack.
The original soundtrack is available on every streaming platform and on bandcamp.
I hugely suggest to play the game with an Xbox controller.

nice feel to it (art and animation) but the combination of outrunning a wave while you fight enemies and keeping your hunger at bay felt very stressful(did not matter if the music was calm)...I kept dying very early so did not get a chance find what are those two endings or bosses...maybe i am a bad gamer still I would remove one of the odds against you(the wave or the hunger and keep searching trough trash as an upgrade for your weapon. or at least eat dead enemies automaticity when bumping into them. :) But then again like i say might be just my poor gamer skills!
Thanks for playing and for your review. I made this game a long time ago (and released it a year later with just a few adjustment), so I did not have the same view on difficulty and game design as now. The game is a bit less unfair when you focus on staying alive and stack a lot of resources for later areas, but it's still pretty rough as it's supposed to be a roguelike where you learn each run. I failed how some things are tutorialized and focused too much on combat, when the experience wants you to search for food, save it for later, and fight only when necessary.
